The Ottawa-Carleton District School Board offers Vietnamese Language school through Continuing Education. The International Languages (IL) program is mandated under the Ministry of Education. Communities work in partnership with the school board in order to provide instruction in non-official languages. These programs offer children the opportunity to learn and or maintain a language other than English or French and help them to develop an appreciation for diversity and inter cultural understanding. Primary level courses are offered to elementary school-age children from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 8 and are offered to Ontario residents primarily from the Ottawa-Carleton area. Most classes run on Saturday mornings from 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM unless otherwise stated. The following are Vietnamese language schools available in the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board area. Registration for these courses usually begin in September and while offered free of charge to students, there may be a registration fee required to cover the costs of materials and supplies.
